Hi. My name is Debra and I am a pianist based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old and love every second I spend at the keyboard whether playing or composing. I also enjoy singing and playing my violin.
The inspiration to create ‘Angel Voices’ in 2011 came as a means of sharing my love of music with others, which has enabled me to lead music sessions for various ages including a preschool music group, lead singing at my local primary school, compose songs and musicals and provide performances of piano music at various events.
I am available for providing live piano music for special occasions such as weddings, private events, church functions, care homes etc. My ability to read music competently enables me to play many genres of music including easy listening, popular songs through the decades, musicals, ballads and many more. I like to collaborate with my clients to provide the perfect playlist for your special event. I can even offer an individual composition, for example a bridal entry or exit, specifically created for you to make your day or event extra special. My professional portable keyboard enables me to be able to play at most venues although if the venue has a piano provided, I am able to use this if the client prefers.
Music is a great way of communicating and expressing our feelings whether it’s combined with words, movements or purely on its own. Over the last few years I’ve found that composing music for the piano has been the perfect way for me to deal with my emotions and a way of release. When times have been difficult and my health prevented me from communicating freely, I turned to the piano to express what I wanted to say through the power of music. As well as composing my own piano solos which I would class as easy listening, I have also collaborated with a lyricist creating various styles of songs.
I am currently the pianist/organist at my local church playing for services including weddings and funerals and other events. One of my highlights was the performance of ‘Reflections of the cross’, a musical I wrote and directed. It was a wonderful experience having members of various churches, friends and family involved in the production.
